Act I & II were interesting. I really liked how Shakespeare started off the play with some tension with the ghost scene and how Act I ended with Hamlet talking to the ghost. It made you want to keep reading to see what would happen next and what Hamlet would do next / his plan of action. Most of Act I & II was character and plot development. However, Shakespeare knows how to entice his readers by leaving a great cliff hanger at the end of Act II. We discovered that both Polonius (trying to see why Hamlet is crazy) and Hamlet (to see if Claudius is actually a murderer) have a plan in mind, which they show in Act III.
The readers get a feel of who Hamlet is in Act I & II. I felt that he is a depressed man, struggling through life, especially since his father died and his mother married his uncle (which is disgusting and also a "murderer" as the ghost pointed out). If anyone knows depression, it would be Hamlet. I have to give my respects to him because despite feeling like absolute garbage, he continues to walk in his dark world
